A CHILD
FOCUS Mulago Child Development Project is a child sponsorship program that has been helping children in the Mulago, Kalerwe, Nsooba, and Kyebando community. The project has been in existence since 1992 and over 2000 children and families have been helped to develop socially, spiritually, physically and academically since that time.
CHILDREN AND YOUTH
We target children who are orphans or vulnerable children (OVC). A vulnerable child is defined as one who faces the risk of physical, emotional or mental harm and whose survival, well-being and development is threatened.
The most vulnerable children include those living on their own, those in conflict with the law or in abusive situations, and orphans, households headed by an elderly person, households with a very ill parent or caretaker, and households that cannot meet the basic needs of members.
They include;

-
Children living in poverty,
-
Children living in camps for the internally displaced,
-
Street children and those who are in danger of child abuse.

In FOCUS, the children we work with must have a place they call home as we do not have options for residential care.
Through the FOCUS Mulago Child Development Project, your donations and sponsorship funds work to improve the lives of assisted children and their families.
